Associate to owner, on a real timeline
Every Brycg hospital is managed by a veterinarian, so hospital director is a job you can actually hold, not a title on a org chart. Motivated associates are invited to own and operate hospitals as new facilities are built.

Associate, hospital director, owner: the three rungs
The first rung is the associate role itself, whether you arrive through VetBridge as a new graduate or hire on directly as an experienced doctor. At Liberty Hill Animal Hospital that means joining a seven DVM team already running specialty surgeries such as TPLO. At Pointe 183 Animal Hospital and Urgent Care in Leander, a brand new 5,800 square foot facility, it means joining a smaller three DVM team inside a rapidly growing suburb of North Austin.
The second rung is hospital director, the role Matt Lane, DVM holds at Liberty Hill and Karie Anderson, DVM holds at Pointe 183. Brycg states plainly that each hospital is uniquely managed by a veterinarian, which is what makes director a real operating job: staffing, scheduling, the clinical direction of the building, not a ceremonial title layered on top of an associate's existing caseload.
The third rung is ownership itself. On the Liberty Hill job listing, Brycg states that opportunities are available to all motivated associates to own and operate hospitals as it continues to build state-of-the-art facilities, most recently Pointe 183 in early 2025 and Homestead Animal Hospital and Urgent Care in Manor, which is opening soon.

What a veterinarian-managed hospital means day to day
A hospital managed by a veterinarian, rather than by a regional operations team with no clinical background, means the person setting the schedule understands what a seven doctor, seven day week actually requires to run without burning out the staff. Facilities average roughly 6,000 square feet, built to that seven doctor standard from the start rather than retrofitted around growth.
It also shapes how urgent and emergency cases move through the building. At Liberty Hill and Pointe 183, urgent care and hospitalized case management sit inside the regular schedule, and Emergency Animal Hospital of Crystal Falls, a 24/7/365 facility with an on-site blood bank and a ten DVM team, is the escalation point behind all of it. A director who has worked a shift on that floor makes different staffing calls than one who has only seen it on a spreadsheet.
Chapter 03
What we expect before ownership is on the table
Brycg is honest that the timing depends on the associate and on which hospital is next in the pipeline, not on a fixed number of years. What the group looks for, per the qualifications on its own job postings, is an active and clear veterinary license, a willingness to learn and grow, and someone who functions as a team player inside what Brycg calls a close family culture.
Beyond that baseline, the conversation about timing and which hospital is genuinely a conversation, one Dr. Matthew Brooks, Owner and CEO, has directly with associates who raise it. New grads and experienced vets are both encouraged to apply and to ask the ownership question early rather than waiting years to bring it up.
